What city employees mean to you
Mr. John Baines, of the Public Works & Engineering right-of-way maintenance division, was assigned to follow up on a report that I made regarding water that settles in front of my driveway. This has been an ongoing problem for 5 years. After numerous reports, wrong information, liability issues and timely follow-ups, my problem has finally been solved. Mr. Baines was very informative and assertive through all levels of communications and follow-ups. He showed a great deal of leadership and responsibility in getting the correct department out to investigate the problem. Then, he accurately assigned the proper company that was capable of correcting the problem. His consistent communication flow was outstanding. He made me feel like I was a valued citizen. He is one of the city’s top employees and has the capability to lead a division that is dedicated to providing excellent citizen services. As a former city employee, I appreciate seeing and receiving outstanding service from a city employee.

We appreciate Solid Waste Truck #36101 arriving every week, without fail, on our street. What a great relief to see this faithful driver appear on the exact expected day following Hurricane Ike. He hauled away the spoiled food and thereby relieved us residents of a great burden. His faithful, hard work benefits so many.
