14 employees have been killed while providing services for citizens over the past 20 years. Their modest pay can make a public servant's untimely death especially difficult for their families financially. We can never bring back their loved one. But with your help, we can show those survivors how much we value their loved one’s public service, and we can make that dark time a little less stressful.

Your tax-deductible donation can help us provide financial support to the spouses and children left behind when a municipal employee is killed while serving the citizens of Houston.

You have a choice of two HERO funds to donate to:

100 percent of the money donated to the Survivor Fund will help the spouses and children of municipal employees killed at work.
Money donated to the Administrative Fund will pay for administrative costs, such as advertising and incremental overhead costs.

*HERO board members receive NO money for their time and efforts.
City of Houston employees can also donate through payroll deductions. Ask your payroll representative for information.

You can also help by writing a check for you chosen amount payable to HERO, and mail it to:
